Ukiah, CA - March 4, 2019 - The Ukiah Police Department has contacted Ukiah Unified School District (UUSD) to alert us that graffiti about a potential threat at an unnamed high school was reported at a local business and is under investigation. We are confident that all UUSD schools are secure, but in the abundance of caution, we wanted to make you aware of this situation.
At this time, the Ukiah Police Department has not found further evidence related to any direct or specific threat. UUSD officials are cooperating and working closely with law enforcement to provide complete support in every way. UUSD has taken all possible precautions and the Ukiah Police Department continues to investigate.
The safety and well-being of students and staff are high priorities of Ukiah Unified School District. We take all threats seriously, and it is unfortunate that they detract from teaching and learning and raise concerns for students, their parents, guardians, and our staff.
