Ukiah Unified Properties in Hopland and Redwood Valley To Be Discussed at Special Board Meeting Via Video Conference

During this meeting, Trustees will receive a status update from the realty consultants assisting the District to evaluate options for the former school sites. Trustees will be discussing potential land exchange transactions for the Hopland and Redwood Valley properties.

As authorized by the Governor’s Emergency Executive Order, issued on March 12, 2020, the UUSD Board of Trustees will conduct Board of Education meetings via video conference/telecommute until further notice.  All UUSD Board meetings will be live streamed through the UUSD Live YouTube channel here.

Under an exchange agreement, surplus District real property would be exchanged for an income-producing property or a property that addresses other District needs either for anticipated enrollment projections or administrative uses.

UUSD has sought extensive community engagement on these surplus properties beginning with the 7-11 Committee process and continues to invite the community to participate and understand why an exchange transaction is the preferred approach for the District. UUSD staff continues to work to identify a suitable exchange property.

Members of the public who wish to address the Board during the Special Board Meeting are asked to please use the UUSD Board of Education Meeting: Telecommuting Public Comment Form prior to the start of the meeting. Staff will make all attempts to share and record any submissions received prior to, or during the Board Meeting. However, depending on timing, late submissions may be provided to the Board after the conclusion of the meeting. Public comments are limited to three minutes per speaker.
