Superintendent’s Update to Ukiah Unified Families: January 15, 2021

As of the end of today, over 600 UUSD staff members have received the COVID vaccine, this includes almost ALL UUSD staff members who wanted the vaccine!  I cannot thank the City of Ukiah, Ukiah Valley Fire Authority, County of Mendocino, and Public Health enough for everything they are doing to make these vaccines happen for us!  I also want to thank UUSD employees for their work planning this and getting our staff scheduled.  I am excited about this vaccination milestone, which will be vital for us to get back to in-person instruction. It gives me renewed energy and hope for our future.

New guidance came out late yesterday from the California Department of Public Health regarding reopening and the North Coast Section regarding athletics.  We are in the process of reviewing these documents and will have information ready to share with you next week!

I want to hear from families and answer questions about our eventual return to in-person instruction, so we will be hosting three Virtual Town Hall Meetings on January 25th, 26th, and 27th. One for Elementary, one for Secondary, and one for all grades in Spanish. Please see the times and topics below. I will be available along with principals and district staff to answer questions. Email your questions to [email protected] at any time before or during a Town Hall.
