Parents and Guardians:
We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. It is difficult to comprehend such catastrophic events as an educator and a parent. We feel closely connected to the children, teachers, staff, families, and community who are so devastated by this loss of innocent lives, and our hearts and thoughts are with them. Our primary focus is always to keep our children safe, and schools continue to be one of the safest places for children.
The best thing we can do is support and be responsive to our children. If your student needs help, don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school. Trained school staff are available should students need additional emotional support.
These events remind us of how important it is for each of us to remain vigilant and fully aware of our surroundings at all times. We have safety plans in place at each school that we consistently review, evaluate and practice. Please know that our school district works closely with law enforcement every day, including our School Resource Officer Brett Chapman.
School safety is a shared responsibility. We encourage anyone who sees or hears anything suspicious to say something. We also encourage families to engage in conversations about safety and well-being with their children. When students or parents hear rumors or have information regarding possible threats to school safety, we encourage you to report it immediately.
Please know that safety is our highest priority, and we will continue to work together to ensure our schools are safe places filled with learning, laughter, and positive relationships with others.
