Ukiah Unified Developer Fees

Developer fees are fees developers pay to school districts to mitigate the impact of new development on the school facilities. In February 2014, Ukiah Unified Trustees directed the Administration to cease collecting developer fees temporarily. Since then, the District has not collected developer fees on any new development within District boundaries.

During the 2021-22 school year, Ukiah Unified Trustees asked Administration to commission a new developer fee study, and they agreed to move forward with discussion and consideration of reinstating developer fees.  Over the last few months, the District has worked with King Consulting to develop a developer fee study and present it to the Ukiah Unified Trustees.

Two community meetings were advertised and held on August 29 and September 26, 2022, to get community input and educate the public about developer fees. Trustees will consider developer fees at their November 10, 2022, Regular Board Meeting.
