NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND OF PROPOSAL FOR ADOPTING DEVELOPER FEE JUSTIFICATION STUDY AND IMPLEMENTING SCHOOL FACILITIES FEES AS AUTHORIZED BY EDUCATION CODE SECTION 17620 AND GOVERNMENT CODE 65995

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 6:30 pm at its regular meeting, located at 511 S. Orchard Avenue, Ukiah, CA, the Governing Board of the Ukiah Unified School District will hold a public hearing to approve a resolution to adopt the statutory school facility fees on residential and commercial/industrial construction. Immediately following the public hearing, proposed resolutions will be considered by the Governing Board which if adopted by the Board will adopt a developer fee justification study and implement development fees against residential construction and reconstruction at $4.79 per square foot and against new commercial or industrial construction at $0.78 a square foot. The proposed fees are authorized by Education Code Section 17620 and Government Code Section 65995. The fee, if approved by the Governing Board, will become effective on April 11, 2023. The Governing Board will also consider its exemption from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act relative to the fee and the adoption of a Notice of Exemption pursuant to Education Code section 17621, subd. (a). Any interested party may make an oral or written presentation at this meeting.
