With the heat advisory in place for the coming days, we want to assure you that we are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and comfort of your children while they are at school. Our guidelines include moving outdoor activities indoors, providing regular hydration breaks, and ensuring our learning spaces are cool and comfortable.
As temperatures rise into the triple digits, we encourage you to make adjustments to your own outdoor plans at home as well. Limiting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and making sure your children stay hydrated can help protect them from heat-related issues. Please review the Heat Risk Grid from the California Department of Public Health for more information.
Also, remember that the heat inside a car can become extreme quickly. Do not leave children or pets unattended at any time.
Thank you for your support as we work together to keep our students safe during this period of extreme heat.
