December Students of the Month December Student of the Month Show Transcript good afternoon and welcome to Kaya high school and to our youkai Unified School District um student a month ceremony I am Doug Cuban superintendent of this amazing School District I feel honored every day to be able to work with our students and staff and families so thank you so much before I forget to say it thank you thank you so much for trusting us with your kids we love them we were so excited to welcome them back to school today after a little break and we hope you had a lovely break with your with your kids and family and took advantage of some time off to be with them and get outside and do family things together so thank you for being here grandparents parents friends um there are a few staff members here as well and then our amazing um administrators and other staff members here um to talk about these great kids so if you would please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance we will start there ready be to the flag of States of America and to the Republic for which it stands 1 nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you very much we are very honored to um to have uh started this student of the month many many years ago some businesses in our community started this program and they continue to support us today um Savings Bank of Memphis County was 1 of the original uh star I see you up there yes a long time ago um starting this program so we really appreciate all of the work that our businesses do to help support our students as well it takes all of us working together to get these kids um get these kids graduated so thank you before we start um I would like to read a list of all the sponsors for this program and students I'll also tell you when you come up here to get your reward um you'll get a packet of goodies and so when I read the sponsors I will also tell you what you're going to be getting from these amazing sponsors so we have Applebees of Yukaya that you will get a free kids meal Carol Meyer from insurance um you will receive a magnet uh that goes beautifully on your refrigerator and a photo that will be taken outside after the students names are announced and I promise you you will get that photo so there's no need to get up during during the ceremony and walk out and take that photo yourself while other students are being State Farm Insurance and then we have a Miranda Gardino who is here from Savings Bank County and Community post credit union is usually here but she is out ill so she is not here today but we always think them very much for um being here to help celebrate and not to be forgotten um sitting behind those 3 people are the 2 amazing women who put this program together Erica Contra um she puts most of it together uh assisted by Debbie ornelas who's our executive assistant so thank you and also not to be forgotten if you love our Facebook posts and all of the uh work that we do to get the good words out about ukay unified um we've got Dan dockerty over there um he he will be taking our photos today um and we also have per caller here who is recording this and posting we no longer live stream because sometimes the internet goes out and people get very upset so now we videotape and we post it on YouTube so you can view it so um anyway I really appreciate everyone who is here today to help honor these students I forgot to introduce 1 more person um this is our director of student services Jason Iverson who is going to be doing our attendance award so I'm not nearly as cute as your kids go be a parent a second thank you so much for your students achievement obviously they could not be able to do that with all out all of your support so thank you very much so in light student achievement we are constantly looking at all those factors that go into Student Success obviously things like parenting those sort of background things um test scores we look at all those sorts of pieces and what we look at the most important data like third grade reading whether that children in what age and stuff they were graduated high school or success it still comes down to most single most important factors attendance so in light of celebrating Student Success in school Success we have a competition every month we do about where we honor the particular school has the highest percentage of attendance again and for the student achievement so this month's winner for highest attendance is Grace Hudson Elementary congratulations and then during the pandemic is all of you are aware we struggle with attendance tremendously and coming back so we also have a year-over-year Improvement which school has improved the most in that period of time and this month's winner is okay Elementary congratulations and now miss Van Patten you're very cute students who they want to see way more than me come on up okay so our first student of the month is from Mrs Armstrong's fourth grade class and it is Maria right here in the middle and Mrs Armstrong writes about Maria and says that she is a sunshine in the classroom she's dedicated intelligent helpful and hardworking she's a good friend to everyone and has a great moral compass she's extremely responsible kind and respectful to her classmates and the teachers and staff she's internally motivated and the fast learner and Mrs Armstrong feels very fortunate to be her teacher congratulations to Maria Del Rosario wrote this you get to go over there get all your goodies okay our next student is from Mrs Mendoza's fourth grade class and Mrs Mendoza writes that Alyssa Ram is an outstanding student who consistently demonstrates High academic standards she approaches her classwork and assignments with precision and thoroughness she ensures that there is excellence in all that she does her Keen curiosity and enthusiasm for learning are evident especially when she tackles new tasks with she takes initiative in seeking information independently and she asks clarifying questions to deepen her understanding Alyssa is a true role model for her peers exemplifying a positive attitude and a strong commitment to growth Mrs Mendoza can always count on Alyssa to arrive at school with a smile that lights up the classroom it's a privilege to work with such a sweet and inspiring student congratulations Alyssa Ram and finally for Mr grits fourth grade class is annaya Australia and Mr gravat breaks that he wanted to nominate the student who shines in any classroom at all times any day of the week and anywhere a simmering and infectious energy a Readiness to work is in full swing daily her High math and reading scores attest to her work ethic and her friendships confirm her sense of community she simply lives before bees and our 4 bees are be safe be respectful be responsible and be kind and she lives those in and out of the classroom she's creative fun talented and sincere and her future is bright we will not be surprised when she is successful as an adult in any Endeavor she undertakes congratulations on that and next up is Frankie hello my name is Brooke Corning I'm a teacher at Frank speak Elementary School and um I am here today to talk about some of our wonderful students uh first up we have Miss Valentina Contreras on right here and um her teacher Miss Maura has this to say about her Valentina is a very hardworking student herself assuredness and inquisitive nature makes her a wonderful pupil to have a class Valentina Works to complete all assignments with quality and always add a little extra Valentina flare she is also a talented artist I'm positive that we will see valentina's art published in a book someday switching between English and Spanish there's no easy feat but Valentina has found a way to excel at both her use of academic vocabulary is exceptional possibly due to her fondness of books Valentina is 1 of the top readers in our class and will be a reading millionaire this year her work ethic and commitment to her academic growth makes Valentina a well-deserved student of the month all right um and that was fourth grade we have another fourth grader from Mr Martin's class Lucas hoping and Mr Barton has this to say about Lucas Lucas is a great student and an excellent role model for other students in in the specially for student athletes he is a talented baseball player and has a tremendous passion for the game Lucas also brings the same Focus to class with him he always comes to school ready to learn each day he quickly learned our class and complete the necessary tasks and assignments that we do daily without hesitation Lucas is a great listener when I am instructing and he likes to participate in class discussions when he has something to share Lucas is kind to everyone in class and is always willing to help others when they need it he is a respond he is responsible with his homework and with reaching or exceeding mandatory goals in class Lucas is quiet during work time respectful in class and on the playground makes many good decisions with his behavior he was an easy choice for student of the month and I'm very proud of him all right next up we have fifth grader you know what Amador and um and Mr paw had this yesterday about No 1 I'm proud to announce our student of the month for December Noah Amador know that was an amazing student whose accolades include being a master of mathematician and incredible geographer a strong reader a developing writer an athlete and an all-around great kid in class he is our go-to I always available to help both his peers and teacher as Noah has an incredible work ethic and is always laser focused on finishing his assignments it's rare but I always look forward to know his hand being raised for help to understand a concept skill better he asks questions problem solves and just like that he is off and running again outside the classroom I'm often invited to join Noah and his friends in a game of basketball or kickball baseball which is always good fun I'm confident he will finish the year strong and will continue to be that outstanding student in Middle School congratulations on being our student of the month Noah you are and and here we have fifth grader Sean Keane and Mr Bradford has this to say about you Sean is a smart inquisitive student who is becoming an Avid Reader he is kind to other students and thoughtful his gentle deme is 1 of my favorite things about him Sean is good about putting effort into his work and he asks a lot of good questions that show his thinking he is a wonderful person all right thank you very much and next up we have Grace Hudson hello everybody thank you for being here we appreciate your attendance uh it's very important for us as a parents uh because we also like to appreciate all the hard work that you guys do um because without your support it would be impossible for us to do our job as well so give yourself a big hand of Applause because we deserve it you're there for them and you're there for us to we need it so thank you my name is social emotional school council for youkai Unified School District and I'm here in place of Mr J Evans looking happy here to present the students of the month um I would like to start by congratulating our students uh who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence and uh model citizenship um these ups and students consistently shown strong work ethic um it positive attitude um and commitment to achieving their academic goals um in addition to their academic accomplishments they have also demonstrated kindness respect uh in responsibility towards their peers and teachers um making them role models in our school Community we are proud to recognize their hard work and dedication and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success I will start with our fourth grader in the Champions year who her teacher uh says the following Henley is an exceptional student who truly shines in the classroom she brightens up classroom worker infectious spine and positive attitude uh Henley is a great friend to her peers always willing to help others with kindness and patience her love for reading and her enthusiasm for participating in class discussions Inspire everyone around her she's also the leader in our school work count and reading with 850,124 Works in counting she's consistently follows our school Expectations by being respectful um responsible and safe setting a setting a wonderful example for others at school we're so proud of Henry and grateful to have her in our class anybody Scripps Hudson because it's a great school and also because of the expectations that it has for all the students and we would like to thank her family for their support and encouragement to always do good and do her best and to all the people that work at Great Subs and the school district for what they do for their students congratulations Henley next is uh I'm going to say this in Spanish uh as soon as today I knew that kind of was the past experience or next we have like uh Diego is G Alpo Diego us is expect expect journalist the most random constant administrator for on exceptionals participle active maintenance activities observe attitude and see now for and we have Phoenix time Phoenix is an exemplary student consistently demonstrating kindness compassion and empathy towards her peers or strong work ethic intelligency are evident and everything she does from completing assignments to participating in class discussions for helpful nature is a valuable asset to our classroom Community she's always willing to land their hand offer support and provide guidance to her uh classmates making her a trusted and respectful friend this year she has made a remarkable progress and greeting displaying a growth mindset and perseverance correct dedication to improving her ability skills is impressive and for hard work has paid up resulting and significant growth and achievement you need slight stressing because everyone there is helpful and because of the student of the month recognition because as she said it if you get it that means you're doing good uh Phoenix would like to thank her family for their support and teachers because they helped her learn and make her a better student congratulations to Mr Tan rolls good afternoon my name is Tom also I am uh very honored to serve as principal at Nakoma Elementary is a TK through fifth grade school um we practiced the 3 RS of being ready responsible and respectful I brought with me 3 students today that model those each and every day we have a force student that is ill and so she'll be watching on YouTube um the first student is from Mrs Smith's class who's here to watch this our student Alex Hernandez Gonzalez to be honored but I'm going to have Ruby Alvarez MCA our family and Community lands on read it in Spanish Alex Alex Alex for for for Alex for the next student I get to brag about is a 14 ate student from Miss Summers this summer pins of Mario onate that he is a hardworking student who is kind to his classmates and respectful of all Mario works hard at challenging himself by staying curious Mario consistency follows our 3 RS he is ready responsible and respectful Miss Summers is very proud to be Mario's teacher and she wishes to congratulate Mario and Nate for Mr scriven's fifth grade class but I'm going to have Ruby read about her for for for the last 2 is from Mr delgado's 5th grade class she wanted to be able to watch this on YouTube so I'm going to read what Mr Delgado wrote her name is Isabella Fuentes Mr Delgado says Isabelle is a quiet and hardworking student she has a great work ethic which has allowed her to make great progress in her academics at school Isabelle is a type of student that all of those she tends to be shy and quiet she can be very vocal when she needs to be developers will along with everyone and their peers respect her a lot and look up to her because of her work ethic she's always respectful responsible and always ready to learn new things Isabella Fuentes from Mr students from the comments hey my name is Amanda Brown I'm the principal at Oak Manor and I'm really honored to be here tonight the students at Oak Manor that we're honoring their success and what they bring to our school was really more of a reflection of their families and I just want to thank their families for raising such wonderful students and I'd like to start with Fernando and Hernando's teacher says he is a wonderful student he's always respectful responsible thing he works hard he's well-mannered friendly with his peers as Fernando why he thought he was receiving this award and he said he wasn't really sure he's a humble guy but his classmates chimed in and said you know what he he does his work and he's also really motivated he wants to get good grades and he wants to graduate and when he gets older he either wants to be a soccer player or a police officer so congratulations Fernando okay next we have the lhasa Dominguez glaze teacher says that she's an exceptional Oak Manor bobcat she comes to school every day with a positive attitude ready to learn her smile is contagious she brings joy that the classroom she's 100% effort in all that she does delays is also committed to attending after school tutoring or she works extremely hard not only on her work but she also is able to explain complicated math concepts to her peers she's a delight to have in class when I asked Liza wants what she wants to be when she grows up she said a doctor her her cousin is a doctor and she wants to follow in her footsteps congratulations now we have aita Castillo the latest teacher says that she constantly demonstrates a strong worth it work ethic she has a positive attitude and a genuine love of army alita's dedication to Excellence is evident in the quality of her work she always shows respects to respect to her teachers and classmates she says a wonderful example when she grows up she wants to be a marine biologist okay okay now we have Gary and cran neuen who is a fantastic student is teacher says he's an excellent role model he pushes himself to was very best on all the tasks he faces he takes great pride in learning new things and mastering new skills he's an Avid Reader who crushed his previous reading goal Darien is also quite the mathematician and he often volunt cheers to help his peers with assignments he is looking to join the military and work with airplanes 1 day congratulations Darien and finally we have sixth grader Mauricio so Luna his teacher says that he shows he show up to be an excellent student he works hard to make sure he is putting in a 100% effort and asks a lot of great questions he does he encourages others around him to the Oakman her way and he's a wonderful role model as he is always safe respectful and responsible this is along your teacher is very proud of you this is not really sure what he wants to go do when he grows up and he's going to college so congratulations I would like to give another round of applause for our Oak Manor bobcat and welcome all right I'm very proud to stand here I'm Dana Milani I'm the as well if you okay while Elementary School and introduce to you 4 amazing road runners um at Yoko we like to talk about being terrific it's our 6 pillars of character its trustworthiness respect responsibility fairness caring and citizenship and every month I today we have a song for that but every month nobody wants to break out into song so we'll save it for today as well um this student uh first fourth grade class and she has this to say about sarin Robbins sarin has quickly become an out and outstanding student at Yoko Yoko embodying the qualities of a true kid for character academically he excels by staying consistently on task eag embracing constructive feedback with a smile and applying new strategies with dedication he has a genuine love of learning and approaches every lesson with curiosity and enthusiasm sin doesn't just participate he contributes thoughtful ideas and questions that answer a classroom discussions his persistence in mastering new Concepts and his ability to push himself to use what he learns regularly are truly an admirable his favorite subject in school in math is be and is math because he loves working with numbers Sharon demonstrates terrific values daily his trustworthy always doing the right thing and shows deep care for his peers by offering help whenever needed as an advocate for justice Darren speaks up against unfairness and sharing everyone is treated equitably lie and with kindness he embodies Respect by treating others with courtesy taking takes responsibility for its actions and models fairness through its inclusion and thoughtful approach to friendships sarin's caring nature and commitment to citizenship make him a valued and inspire hired an effort of our classroom community he believes that citizens citizenship is the most important character trait because it it is about taking care of our country community and each other he loves playing slant ball at school indoor recess and playing his brother's tablet his family pets and treating others with kindness is important to him and when he grows up he would like to be a donut man because once you can bake donuts and give them to people that are hungry and we are very very errands so congratulations all right this is Chanel Hansen Hansen and her teacher says that Chanel makes a made an incredible academic strides this year and our dedication to learning is truly inspiring she takes her education very seriously approaching every lesson with thoughtfulness curiosity and care Chanel expelled at grasping big picture ideas while also mastering the finer details which allows her to apply newer knowledge effectively and contribute meaningfully perspectives to class discussions her work consistently reflects impeccable attention to detail um her favorite subject in school is math because she enjoys it especially working with fractions that's my girl Beyond academic Chanel shines as a role model for her peers she is an excellent partner to anyone she works with demonstrating patience and kindness especially when helping others who may be struggling her ability to explain concept clearly Fosters a collaborative and supportive learning environment she is always aware of her surroundings and whenever help is needed even when her peers may not be following expectations Chanel consistently leads by example she embodies all 6 pillars her extraordinary blend of academic Excellence leadership and unwavering character make her a truly invaluable and inspiring member of our classroom Community she thinks caring is the most important character trait because it goes with a whole bunch of other traits like responsibility fairness and sufficient s*** she thinks that being a caring person is is important because if you are not you can hurt other people's feelings which can lead to an argument where both people can feel upset her favorite thing to do outside of school is gymnastics because it allows her to learn how to do a lot of complex Maneuvers and that she has always wanted to learn that her family and friends are very important to her and when she grows up she likes to be a gymnast congratulations this is the most shyest kindest girl ever so if we can get her to smile yeah okay there it is she is a fifth grader and Mrs Williams class and this is what Mrs Williams says about um Emily Rodriguez Maldonado Emily is an all-around exceptional student in person academically she excels in every subject but her ability to reason through complex problems makes her specially remarkable her favorite subject in school is math because it can be challenging but she loves the challenge of learning new things she also loves learning new things and math because her dad helps her when she finishes her work she is always offering to help others that are struggling are you okay we have the terrific character traits and she does well in all areas Emily can be trusted to be to make responsible decisions care for other students who need help and she is always respectful she thinks that responsibility is the most important character trait because it is our responsibility to be terrific outside of school she loves to ride her bike or scooter and do arts and crafts the other the most important things to her is her family because they make her laugh and when they do they go through ups and downs they make her happy and the future she hopes to go to college and a doctor or a lawyer because she wants to do something big we are proud of you Emily and can't wait to see what your big things are so congratulations this is like David and by the way he is 11 years old today today is his birthday so happy birthday we can break up into another song but we won't do that today either we got lucky all right um this is Blake and Mrs Williams says this about him Blake is respectful always thinking and giving his learning all of his focus and attention he is a good citizen following the rules and setting a good example but mostly he is an inquiry person always asking questions that lead him to deeper learning he has always questioning my math skills I'll tell you that much and he's always right so there we go academically he is an extremely hard worker and does especially well in math but is successful in all academic areas his favorite subject is math but he also lives reading a good book because they get him hooked and when he is learning something new he has a lot of fun if there is something that is difficult or doesn't make sense he continues to try until he is able to understand it he has always thoughtful working through difficult problems adding interesting connections to our conversations and learnings and seeing details that others Overlook he thinks that trustworthiness is the most important character trait because if you can't trust someone it's hard to do that with others he said it's hard to choose 1 because you aren't doing 1 it's like you're not if you're not doing them all you're not doing them all well his favorite thing to do outside of school is playing video games and playing baseball his favorite sport where he plays first or third brace I think you're a Yankees fan now that you've been to New York I thought so um he hopes to be an NL MLB player or an engineer as a career in the future when asked what the most important things in his life are he answered family because they didn't exist I wouldn't exist either they are really nice and treat me well I don't know that I would that what I would do without them I'm sure that your family is very proud of you and he has a wonderful family so congratulations like David up next is Mr Stearns from Eagle Peak okay here we go fifth grade Dominic mcnamera nominated by Miss Clark she's thrilled to recognize Dominic yeah student of the month he is an outstanding scholar who consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a genuine love for learning his thoughtful contributions in class and commitment to doing his best to inspire both his teachers and peers Beyond his academic it's Dominic is an incredible friend to everyone around him his kindness compassion and willingness to help others make our classroom feel like a true Community plus this great sense of humor adds joy and laughter to every day reminding us all of the importance of positivity and thank you Dominic for being a shining example of Excellence kindness and good character your teacher is proud of you congratulations Dominic also in fifth grade me of Eileen Moreno congratulations styling for being student of the month again miss Clark's class she exemplifies what it means to be a model student consistently puts your best effort into everything she does whether it's classwork a group thanks for helping others her dedication to doing the right thing even when No 1 is watching is truly inspiring Eileen is not only hardworking but also kind-hearted she always treats her classmates with respect and compassion often going out of her way to support and the positive attitude and genuine kindness make our classroom a better place for everyone she's also a huge Harry Potter fan wants to be a teacher someday and it's just doing a great job at Eagle Peak Eileen Moran congratulations hello neighbor we share it back to our friends we have a fun time uh so here's Jasmine Jada she's a model citizen in the Learning Community kind of everyone and this is writing works well with others always participating 100% consistently does your very best and puts forth maximum effort in math class she's a dream to have in class Miss tangler writes always working hard in putting forth best effort very proud of her willingness to always try hard in math class even if the concept or skill is not coming to her right away in English Jasmine exemplifies all the qualities we value in our school Community hardworking kind to help she approaches challenges with determination and shows great perseverance and her studies for Mr Christensen always hardworking and on task and ready to learn and then finally for Mr Coffman and pee she's an excellent example to appear relentlessly on task consistently embracing challenges and displays remarkable work work ethic I can always rely on her to be kind and right Jasmine is sheer joy to have in class congratulations Jasmine John all right Sean be the last of the non Hughes yes lots of student of months over the years thank you family so here we have Sean in sixth grade Miss Allen he comes to class with all caps great can do attitude every day his curiosity enthusiasm for class activities is contagious and helps to liven up the atmosphere and science class I so appreciate his willingness to die fully into the assignments and truly learn from what we are doing this math teacher says Sean is a calming force in the classroom constantly thinking on his toes and looking for different strategies to solve math problems Sean likes to do things his own way without constructing disappears thinking keep up the great work for Miss Frasier he's always he always has great book that he is reading respectful to teachers and classmates alike fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for our school from social studies Mr Christian says you're an amazing student very hardworking and a very intense focus of great role model for others and then finally in PE Sean has incredible energy and uses it to his advantage in class he has a positive attitude that benefits everyone around him son of you congratulations bro okay next we have Drexel around in seventh grade his math teacher minister of the porch or writes every day it is a real honor to be direct sow Brown's math teacher algebra is not an easy language to learn students and yet he always welcomes the challenge brings his absolute best effort pays attention to during each lesson asks meaningful questions and practices most carefully and precisely is dedication to quality work is unsurpassed this is a young gentleman who brings the most positive mindset into the classroom is kindness of spirit and profound respect toward all people are exemplary and have a real impact on his peers he's a great role model for all of us the entire class is better thanks to his presence wow uh and and then uh in English real quick he's 1 of the first students uh whose home I called to share my excitement about having him in English these polite towards the spears of teachers he's a champion roof rule follower and to stand out contributed contributor to our classroom um and then finally Miss Shipley says Drexel is a wonderful student kind of others very respectful always gives 100% even with dealing with the difficult task Jeff some brown congratulations all right we have Kingsley piece from seventh grade Mr reporter writes again Kingsley is a phenomenal student who defines the notion of Excellence mathematics her for free also honors work stands out for its Clarity precision and beautiful articulations she learns meaningfully in depth for the long run she does not take anything for granted or academic maturity is that is the top-notch high school student her intellectual curiosity is huge respect for her peers participates abundantly in class always in a humble way not surprisingly she's an important classroom leader who's respected and liked by all her peers and teachers alike I'm honored and inspired to be her math teacher um right Mr portrait and then finally getting this teacher Miss parsh says you're an excellent student always works hard and at least work to the best for Ability works well with others and isn't afraid to ask questions and participate he is a piece congratulations uh Eli is a diligent student his math teacher right she's always on task greatly appreciate the respect he shows his peers and his teacher the social studies teacher writes Eli has a great sense of humor and is very intelligent intelligence intelligence sorry uh he makes sure to say hello every in class and ask how I am doing Eli always gets his work done on time and will expand upon his work and do more than what was asked he loves to ask questions that further discussions and it's a very curious student enjoys learning and it's a great person to have in the classroom UI is mature self-disciplined and science classes teacher writes he's able to monitor his own work how does it stay on task he participates in class and shows understanding through his comments questions written work it's been a great 4 years elim congratulations but and finally we have an SM Moreno Mr Thomas math teacher says she is very very very productive I enjoy them a maturity brings to our class the social studies teacher says Vanessa is a very efficient student was able to get her work done accurately and on time she's a good friend to her peers and US history class and has seen helping out either helping peer understand the lesson or or putting away class supplies when she doesn't understand something she takes it upon again Eagle Peak middle school students love this community come on up my name is Mr Dewey I have amazing students here hey guys scooped up scoot on down okay and our students uh went to the based off of our Roar values which is responsibility organization attitude and respect our first student is sixth grader Noah ingwell who was nominated by his teacher Miss Perez Miss Perez Rises that Noah exemplifies a war values on a daily basis he's respectful of his peers and adults in our schools he's 1 of the most organized students I've ever met his desk and cubby are impeccable and always has every assignment counted for his column and positive attitude are in great balance to the general craziness in our classroom he is always responsible and turns everything in early I can always count on him to raise his hand and participate in class discussions is a joy to have in class congratulations Noah our next student of the month winner is Seventh Grade B Henrys Fred's teacher writes that when Fred came up home Lena support throughout the entire day over the past 15 months he has worked so very hard and Alan needs assistance in 1 class earlier this month we met to discuss his progress and agreed that he has progressed amazingly this school year he believes that because our friends dedication and hard work he deserves to be recognized this Polly is a great student of the month congratulations Brad next we have Sophia Hernandez who was nominated by her future Mr Ayala Mr Ayala writes that Sophia has been in her his art class since last year and she is a wonderful student she is always on task highly respectful and immensely artistic Sophia is someone you can always count on to do the right thing Mr IL writes that if she if he had a classroom full of students like Sophia teaching would be easy he says thank you congratulations our next student of the month is Brooklyn V eighth grade uh and Brooke uh Brooklyn was nominated by Miss Flores who works in the office and uh Maria writes that Brooklyn is an exemplary student who demonstrates exceptional caring and responsibility her compassionate nature was evident when during her office duties the student will walk in with a bloody nose and without hesitation Brooklyn's bringing the action providing tissues for the student and immediately notifying office staff about the Urgent situation but consistently goes above and beyond to support both staff and her fellow students working at bodies the qualities of an outstanding student this deserving candidate for student of the month congratulations thank you that we have Malia cantero nominated by Miss Ulan who's in the crowd eighth grader and Miss Yulan writes that Malia has worked diligently and consistently on her learning all year she has been an inspiration to me and to other students Malia is irresponsible caring student who always strives to be a person of character and Excellence is an honor to be your teacher and she is empathized with the war values each day congratulations next we have Mr even Bob I'm the principal of youkai independent study Academy the first student I'm going to talk about we're going to talk video because you couldn't make it um and it'll make sense why I'm making this young man wait Jason Moroni is an 11th grader uh his teacher Mr Shelton writes Jason is an outstanding student and young man I appreciate his attention to detail and his work and the fact that he is always on time we enjoy talking about fishing trips and and other exploits if you can see the photos of the meal she prepares for Basic Foods you beg for dinner invitation with Jason's work ethic and winning personality he should go far and whatever he chooses to do in his future congratulations Jason this is Jacob Hutchinson Mr Shelton writes Jacob has been an excellent student and an exceptional young man his work is well done and always in before his appointment is 1 of the busiest students I have ever worked with he works at Lake County Animal Shelter is a volunteer firefighter and helps his sister with her steer for the county fair Jacob plans to pursue a career in firefighting as a paramedics and will make a great addition to any firefighting team out there I'd like to add on December 20th Jacob became a high school graduate a full semester early he won't be here in June the ceremony so I'm hoping that you can help me congratulate this high school graduate of 5 thank you next up is cellphone good evening my name is Keta grinberg I'm the principal of big picture South Valley and it is my honor to introduce Shandy Lane an 11 greater and this is from Mrs Lawson shandi's advisor she came into my class last year and quite literally woke everyone up when she shows up her demeanor makes us all turn our heads to see what she's up to Shandy is more than capable with whatever she sets her mind to and does her work with skill and ease she can participate in any conversation gives her opinions freely and includes anyone into the team shandi's kind heart and sensitive nature makes her 1 of the most nurturing and helpful students I've met she gives to others whatever is in her power to give without expectation of anything in return her leadership on our campus invite the students to participate and try new things Shandy is the best type of person and we are ever so lucky to have her with us congratulations and I'm going to speak also about Kaylee lupian who couldn't be here and this is from her advisor bill thornsby Kaylee has truly made her Mark as a standout new student in our school Community from the moment she joined as a junior Kaylee has embraced everything big picture has to offer excelling both academically and personally her active participation and warm engagement and advisory have created a sense of belonging for everyone around her Kaylee's work and advisory is considered Li exceptional always done with care originality of the high level of dedication she also shares her passion for cooking and baking with the school bringing delicious treats to her classmates and teachers I am very proud that Kaylee has been named student of the month her hard work creativity and generosity make her more than deserving of this honor congratulations Kayli and I will turn this over to Dr Alvarez at youkai high school hello everyone happy new we are happy 2025 we have 3 of 8 EI students here today because of various reasons travel concerns or issues getting back from winter break we have some kids who are sick and we have some that are in winter sports and basketball season opens right so I'm going to name the ones who aren't here but introduce the 3 that are and we'll start with our freshmen Melanie Mendoza who has 2 nominations the first is uh from her freshman advisory teacher Miss mortar who says this young woman is exceptional Melanie is quiet and kind with a smile that speaks volumes she is a superior student exhibits Flawless classroom behavior and is caring to her friends and classmates with a Grace that is rare for a person her age valadie knows how to brighten someones day with thoughtful words of kindness and will go out of her way to make sure someone knows that she appreciates them thank you for being your amazing self and her for math teacher Miss Gordon says I second this and was going to nominate her this month as well she is a student athlete and in spite of having many obligations related to volleyball she still puts school first she is such an anger for me in 1 thank you for being a great team congratulations all our other freshmen Janet could not make it tonight and we'll celebrate her at ukaya uh uh later this week when she's able to uh get back safely from break next we have McKenzie devesi hi all right you have 3 nominations I don't know if you noticed but first your world history teacher says I can't say enough about McKenzie she is such a joy to have in class every day she is a great example of hard work and effort she puts all of her effort into school work which is very commendable she doesn't let any setbacks bring her down or stop her from reaching her goals in class Kenzie is such a positive light she engages in discussions is incredibly funny and is kind to everyone in class she is well respected in our class and everyone loves her she uploads the room when she's around and is very deserving of student of the month a second teacher who says I second this nomination McKenzie's positive attitude is infectious she goes out of her way to come to greet you with compassion and kindness she generally genuinely wants to know how you are doing she is are working creative conscientious and generously a sport supports others and the third teacher says I would also like to support McKenzie with for her hard work and caring attitude She is totally positive does her best and is very consistent with her engagement in class she's also kind and personable in checks in with everybody very thoughtfully congratulations good job you here is 1 of our middle college students and participates in a a Reebro Academic Decathlon and Miss Kovac says Lena genuinely loves to learn and has a knack for incorporating mathematical vocabulary in her class in a recent Academic Decathlon scrimmage she led the team with the second highest overall score this is notable seeing as she's a sophomore with many seniors on the team she adds to the competitive Spirit of the team and does so with humility Lena works very hard and positively influences her classmates congratulations we're going to get some I'm going to name School celebrate them here at school separately but we have uh a junior Kira Magna um who couldn't make it today uh Gracie Rubio uh can you make it today Alexa Mendoza and Ava Reinhart so congratulations to all these people and I love seeing uh I'm selling a minute while miss Cuban um takes care of business I love seeing all of our future wild pets right here future wild cat student of the month uh congratulations to your families thank you all so much for being here you all have wonderful students thank you so much for sharing them with us and we're looking forward to a great great some rest of the school year um it goes by very fast my uh last of my kids graduated in June from Yukaya High School I missed them very much so hug your kids and grandkids and Friends
