January Students of the Month January Students of the Month Show Transcript Welcome to our screen of the month ceremony I'm Deb Cuban superintendent of this very great School District I feel lucky every day to be able to work with your kids and and you all as um families and all of our staff so really lucky to be here thank you so much for um trusting us with these amazing young people up here we appreciate you um and to all of the families out there and friends and I know we've got some staff members sitting out there I appreciate you being here grandparents I see some grandparents in the audience um it really does take a whole village um to help these amazing kids so thank you so much for being here we are going to start with the Pledge of Allegiance so if you could rise and join me right over there ready begin I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America 1 nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all I feel like we should be moving around because it's so cold outside so um anyway be careful out there in the weather we're really lucky to have the student of the month program it was started many many years ago by our amazing businesses in our community so um I want to acknowledge and thank them for starting the program and continuing it and uh I would like to introduce a couple of them to you and some other really important people who are over there to my left and uh be Arin is 1 of our trustees on the youkai Unified School District School Board here every single month we're so lucky to have her I'm sitting next to her we have Danielle Jones from Community First Credit Union and next preparation on Espinosa who is here from Carol Meyer State Farm Insurance and sitting just behind them we have the 2 wonderful people who put this whole program together Erica Contreras and Debbie ornelas and not to be forgotten um this uh program gets videotaped and put up on our YouTube channel we are no longer live streaming because we've had a couple of Snappers where the internet has gone down and people are not very happy with this but just know that that will be recorded and on our YouTube channel for you to watch and keep um so we've got Fuller here who is videoing for us and Dan darodi our amazing Communications officer told me so all those amazing Facebook posts and the postcards that you recently got in the mail for the top 3 things that you can do to help your support your students at home The Mastermind over there um Dan dockerty is really quite remarkable so thank thank you if we could do a student of the month for him we do it right now so Dan thank you again so much okay so um a few things 1 is we have many sponsors for this program that I wanted to let you know students what you're going to be beautiful people up here um Jason Iverson our director of student services could not be here today so I am giving out the coveted attendance award um each month we are um we have a competition between our school sites on who has the highest attendance percentage and who is the most improved school so as you all know attendance is incredibly important it's really important for kids to come to school because when you are not in school you're not learning what important things the teachers are teaching so this month can I have that please Grace Henson thank you so much this month the attendance award goes to Frank Zeke with 95.1 EV and our most improved award increase from last year of 1.39% no Elementary School and by the way if you have not heard yet from your school we've got a lot of very fabulous prizes going on right now for students who have really great attendance so keep up the great work and um earn those prices and learning school so with that being said calpella Elementary School Mrs Van Patten principal so calpella we just have 4 Simple Rules be safe be respectful be responsible and be kind and what we like to say about our students of the month as they follow those rules easily without reminders that these students go above and beyond that so um from Mrs Armstrong we have Landon casino here and Mrs Armstrong writes that Landon is a scholar athlete who has a heart of gold he always considers the feelings of others whether he's in the classroom or on the basketball court he's mature Beyond his years and he takes on challenges with responsibility and Landon exemplifies the 4 beasts of capella and your teacher writes those rules here be safe kind respectful and responsible at all times he's a good friend to everyone he helps other students frequently making the classroom environment even more more positive land in this funny intelligent and kind he listens during class and is always on task he's a positive leader in our school and she appreciates him daily congratulations Landon Cina okay and now we have here lemus and she is in Mr Graves fourth grade class and Mr gravat says that when he looks for a nomination for a student of the month he not only looks for academic achievement but also for a personality that fits in an educational ideal of the future and he writes that they uh he looks for a curious student who has a growth mindset and an attitude that mistakes are just signposts towards success and all the more reason to keep pushing ahead he looks for classroom and outside relationships that present a person of dignity kindness and compassion he looks for eagerness to learn in a sense of humor and he finds that um when he's discussing a particularly difficult Concept in class he can scan the room for the most curious eyes and the most Earnest tilt of the head and he finds this person he are congratulations all right and finally we have Emma we'll see here she is in Mrs Mendoza's fourth grade class and Mrs Mendoza writes that Emma is a sweet young lady who has a genuine enthusiasm for learning she consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to academic Excellence she has a positive attitude and her warm smile brightens the classroom each day creating a welcome coming and environment for her peers Emma approaches every challenge with confidence and determination never hesitating to step out of her comfort zone to grow and improve she's an active and engaged participant in the classroom discussions always offering thoughtful insights and encouraging collaboration it's truly a privilege to have such a dedicated kind and hard-working young woman in my class this year and she says congratulations Emma on being student of the month they have Frankie de good evening I am so excited to um to present these orally these to you today um they really represent Excellence uh both in academics uh and student skills as well as uh just being all around really amazing people um at Frank speak we are pears Tigers so we are peaceful respectful responsible and safe um and these ladies absolutely do uh represent those 4 character uh pillars as well um so representing fourth grade in uh sorry my just are a little disorganized um and Mrs Morris class today is Jaden Bridge uh yeah Jaden reflects the values that we look for in a student of the month she's kind to respectful she's self-motivated she's start working she completes her school work with quality and to determination uh she works hard to attain her goals and helps others in attaining theirs Jaden is a valued pillar in the classroom Community volunteering to help others through her quiet determination and perseverance she will surprise you with her knowledge and her creative problem solving as she continues to grow and Blossom this year her teacher says only the sky is her limit um her academic determination and kind heart make her a perfect example of a Frankie student in the last congratulations we're really proud of you representing fourth grade is uh Jocelyn Jimenez Garcia and Jocelyn is in Mr Martin's class Jocelyn is a terrific student she is polite helpful very responsible which is something coming from Mr Martin to be called responsible that's pretty amazing uh he has he high goals uh she is responsible with her behavior her classwork and her goals in class Joshua pays attention during instruction great student skills raises her hand often asks good questions and when she is randomly chosen to share she knows exactly what's happening and she gives very thoughtful responses her writing has improved tremendously this year and now includes more detail and evidence with almost every single 1 of her responses good job uh she is progress nothing well on the playground she has lots of friends and is always smiling and having fun her teacher says he's very proud of Joseline and have proud face neglected her as student of the month congratulations representing the fifth grade uh is Aaliyah Cohen in Mr va's class Mr Ross says that their student is a month was clear that it needed to be only a Cohen after having her older brothers he was very happy to see her on the list but she Bears her own strengths and her own personality and is equally amazing since day 1 she has focused on academics with near-perfect to perfect scores in math all the English language artists and social studies Aaliyah is thriving in every subject but what really stands out to her teacher is her talents for reading aloud she reads with uh expression she reads clearly and with procity it's really a pleasure to hear her read and he thinks that she's going to go far maybe in uh acting more in the Arts uh when she's not at school she enjoys playing team sports like basketball and soccer and spending time with her friends and family uh her teacher says Alita you are absolutely everything a Frankie tiger stands for congratulations on being student but they were really proud of you and finally representing fifth grade in Mr Bradford's class is Angelica novarus and helica is sweet and studious she is driven to always turn things in and do her best she excels in all subjects that they study and she is constantly looking for ways to challenge herself and improve as well as support others she makes School a priority and is very driven to do well and of all those his first Tigers character traits I can tell you that and helica represents every single 1 she has a peaceful heart she is looks for opportunities to be a respectful she is quite responsible and of course she's very safe and at Frankie we sometimes talk about about the umbrella that contains all those characteristics is just being kind and at helica is just the kindest person that you could be congratulations and those are 16th of the month I like to introduce Mr Evans for Grace Hudson thank you all for coming it gives me great pleasure uh Jim Edmonds Grace Hudson South out of town dual immersion school K5 um it gives me great pleasure to celebrate our students today students of the month and I'm going to start off in fourth grade with PA and her teacher uh States yes and right on time come on in um anyways uh our Paws Spanish teacher or Spanish language arts or pins states that congratulations Paola your kindness positivity and dedication make you a wonderful student and a joy to have in our class you come to school every day with a big smile ready to learn and do your best you always stay on task work hard and follow all of our school rules with responsibility and respect to your positive attitude and commitment to doing your best set a great example for everyone around you we were so proud of you keep shining and inspiring others with your sweet return period and another um students in fourth grade I'm going to do this in Spanish thank you all for being here you're the reason why all these students are um doing so my parents um it is fantastic formal leader in the Italian group in Western responsibly um electrical case moving on to fifth grade uh this land States uh that waya wanna is a dedicated and responsible student who consistently demonstrates kindness and respect toward it towards everyone she was all she is always willing to lend a helping hand making her a valued member of our classroom Community her commitment to learning and academic Excellence place for well above great level why does positive attitude and safe choices set a great example for her peers she is truly an asset to our clients and we are so proud to recognize her as student of the month congratulations or as you can see eager provides on time and he's ready to to absolutely amazed everyone personally uh Iker what is it amazing me with your group and this is for me and just my interactions with him before I even get into with the uh his teacher Minds for the lances is his vocabulary in both English and Spanish is just above it's just simply amazing um I expect him to be an engineer or something amazing in the future um eager is it in my Hospital land do you say get eer for for Grand leader for for for and with that gives me great pleasure to introduce the commas Mr Ross well good afternoon my name is Tom RS and I have the blessing of to serve at NoMa Elementary as the principal and at NoMa we are a DK through grade school where we practice the 3 RS of being ready responsible and respectful I bring to you 4 students and have exhibited that all year long so let me Begin by Bracken about a little bit the first student I want to brag about is let me get my glasses on Joseph Lee Martini I didn't need my glasses for that I just went missed this Summers who wrote who's here in the audience to cheer him on Joseph de Martini has earned this award ever every day that he shows up to school Joseph is a hardworking dedicated and curious student who shows up to school ready every day shows up challenges himself academically and it's consistently meeting or is cheating his goals most importantly Joseph is a kind compassionate and supportive person lastly Joseph is a role model every day for being respectful ready and responsible this is summer this summer wants to congratulate Joseph B Martinez the next student is a fourth grade student from Mrs Smith's class who's also here to cheer on Zoe her name is Zoe Shipley Miss Mrs writes that Joey Zoe Shipley deserved this award for a multitude of reasons zooming is caring creative supportive and Incredibly intelligent so he is a well-rounded student who excels in all subject areas she displays hard work and perseverance every day as she completes her assignments asking questions to gain Clarity and using feedback to improve her work Zoe is a friend to all which is evident daily as she offers helps to others with struggles inside and outside of their classroom so he's artistic talents is hard to miss she has made Mrs Smith and others personalized portraits in her own personal style her positivity and care for others makes her makes all of our days brighter is for these reasons more that Mrs Smith is proud to be Zoe's fourth grade teacher so so the next student we're going to brag about is a fifth grade student from Mrs Clifford's fifth grade class Angel andrai Flores Mrs scriven pens at Angel is a polite young man taken upon himself to excel the school year he is ready to learn responsible and respectful toward others Angel pushes himself to advance to the next level academically has got a great work ethic and sets high goals for himself this year he has passed over 7 levels in IXL which is a reading program he has passed all the levels in the extra math program including the 1.5 second program he is in Mrs scriven's algebra clip this through and is proud of angel and we all look forward to his word count in reading this year he can accomplish anything he puts his mind to Angel Andrade Flores and the last student I get to brag about is a fifth grader for Mr delgado's room Mr Delgado says the kehlani Milan Milan it that she is a new student at NoMa and even though she has school for about 3 months she has proven to be a hardworking student and someone who really valid values her education kehlani makes an effort to get her work done participate in class follow all the miss you know that was a classroom expectations she is on her way to becoming a role model for other students because of her work ethic and her good behavior Connie is responsible and respectful and ready to get the job that Connie morrone Malcolm and those are the fan 4 Fantastic students from Nomas up next is Mrs Brown my name is Amanda Brown and I'm the principal at Oak Manor and I am so proud of these girls and I know that their families are as well this is really a testament to the families because of all of you that you have such wonderful children that we get to educate each day and I am going to say some of these in Spanish because I think it's important to speak in the language of the families but this is me practicing so um we have Abby Vasquez Clark Abbey lay on bivo participant contact participant expert pivas their salon so our positive manner Samantha Lopez Silva cuatro de senor SI Samantha esta Lisa for is a year compared to stay on manner and this is Grace Fontana she's in fourth grade and Miss Bosley star and Miss Bosley is so proud of Grace to name her for student of the month she's a bright dedicated student consistently performs at high levels of all of her subjects math reading science Grace always gives her best effort it shows in her excellent grades not only that her academic achievements make Grace not only her academic achievements make Grace stand out she's kind and respectful treats her classmates and teachers with utmost consideration after she seats are work she's eager to assist her classmates she follows classroom and school expectations she's responsible respectful and ready to learn she's not a positive attitude and she's a joy to have in class congratulations Grace and then we have Valeria Adias Gomez long sixth grade okay so Valeria hello they want to excel and as a Monday proud of this okay so honor s now I would like to introduce Mrs Milani from Yoko so um I'm Dan Milani I'm the principal at yokayo elementary school um and at Yoko we um consider ourselves trip book we follow 6 pillars of character its trustworthiness respect responsibility fairness fairness citizenship and I tease these guys every month that are up here I said we have a song for that um and I try to get them to break out in song and it's always a no Miss Milani so anyway so I'm going to start um right now introducing Miss elisia Quinones and her teacher says that CIA has been selected as student of the month for her kindness caring nature and academic Excellence she consistently demonstrates compassion towards her peers always ready to offer support and encouragement to those around her her warm and thoughtful personality creates a positive and welcoming environment in the classroom in addition to her admirable character Sia excels academically showing dedication and a strong work ethic in studies her commitment to learning and her willingness to help others make her a true role model she is kindness intelligence and positive attitude truly set her apart making her deserving recipient of this award her favorite subject in school is math because she likes to do an addition subtraction multiplication and arrays she also thinks that math can be easy and hard at the same time that's true so she also loves fractions oh a girl after my own heart CA has a personality and oh wait see you made me she is very caring and doesn't hesitate to help she walks a kindergartens up to their classroom she thinks that's the most important character trait is citizenship because when you help people it makes you feel really good they will appreciate that you help them her favorite things to do outside of school are play basketball softball and play with her cat and dog and make bracelets the most important things to see it is her family pets house and friends she says her family loves her and she loves them she also loves her pets and her friends as well when she grows up she wants to be a teacher just like her mama congratulations misja my daughter is graduating and um well she's leaving for college and I told CIA you're now my new daughter so you're going to have to do all of my stuff for me oh my goodness um this is Miss Aurora Christensen and Mr Aurora is new to Yoko but definitely has been a bright spot for us we're so glad she's with us her teacher says that Aurora is an amazing student who excels academically and demonstrates outstanding character she reads at an impressive 12.9 reading level showcasing her Advanced comprehension skills award Aurora has already surpassed 5 million words in our in math she is performing at a strong seventh grade level demonstrating her ability to solve complex problems with confidence Beyond her academic achievements Aurora is known for her kindness and willingness to help others always offering support to classmates and need is highly respectful treating teachers and peers with kindness and consideration Aurora's dedication intelligence and positive attitude make her a role model and a very deserving recipient of this award Aurora's favorite subject in school is math because she likes to challenge herself love and it's fun to solve problems and learn she also likes math because if she gets it wrong she can learn from her mistakes and figure out what went wrong Aurora is a terrific student because she is responsible respectful caring and shows great citizenship she is always showing her Great Character inside and outside of the classroom she thinks that's the most important character trait is citizenship because you need citizenship to care be respectful responsible and fair her favorite things to do outside of school are silks reading and horseback riding her family is the most important thing to her when she grows up she wants to open up Bakery and or dessert shop with her sister or she would like to be an artist because she likes drawing and painting congratulations Miss Aurora this is Mr Killian Anderson he is in Mrs Martens 45 combination class and his teacher writes that Killian is a wonderful student and humans academically he does well in all content areas but he excels particularly in math he likes to find patterns and seeds ideas in new ways he enjoys the thrill of working on something difficult and then seeing the pieces fit together he often thinks find a box and has thoughtful conversations with his peers Helen's favorite subject in school is math for all of the above reasons and then some Helen is a terrific student because he is very responsible he always ensures that his jobs get done and his desk is organized he believes the most important character trait is trustworthiness trustworthiness is very important he builds a world would be a better place if everyone could be trusted and the classroom and around C campus his actions make him extremely trustworthy and respectful his favorite thing to do outside of school is hanging out with his friends his cat Pugsley and Walter very important to him and when he grows up he'd like to be a lawyer I am sure that he will command a courtroom we are proud of you and know you will excel in anything that you put your too if you look forward to seeing what you your future holds congratulations on being chosen student of the month today but she's watching she was sick she was super upset so I'm going to read her even though she's not here so this is to Nicole Nicole's uh her teacher says she excels in all subject matters but she signs bright brightest in math she is great about explaining her thinking to her classmates and helping those around around her she is kind of caring and has a thoughtful personality which makes her the perfect person to receive student of the month Nicole's favorite subject in school is math and she loves it she has great critical thinking skills as in a and is a wonderful Problem Solver Nicole is a student because she is responsible and takes care of herself and her work she even made sure to do a terrific job on her work while she was away in another country visiting family she embodies all of the character traits and is a role model for other students Nicole believes that responsibility is the most important character trait because if you were responsible then tasks and items in your life will not be lost or forgotten her favorite things to do outside of school is hanging out with her friends and playing soccer her dog Milo is extremely important to her when Nicole goes up she is unsure what she wants to to be but maybe a doctor or a professional soccer player maybe both we are very proud of her and honored to have her as part of the classroom and we congratulate her and are very proud of her and accomplishments so and all right here we go fifth grade Brody Allen is an aspiring baseball player this guy wants play baseball for a long time he's also an incredible scholar in the classroom and his teacher writes Brody's hard work focus and dedication to learning make him a standout in my classroom he always gives his best effort and never backs down from a challenge 1 of the best moments in is hearing Brody exclaimed oh I get it now his excitement for learning is truly contagious not only does he push himself to understand New Concepts but he also eagerly helps his classmates making learning a team effort enthusiastic as of kindness and everpresent smile make him a great friend to all I'm so proud to recognize Brody a student of the month congratulations brother all right next we have Rya eras of Ria wants to do a lot of singing down the road so you know we have a talent show you should sign up for it here in the spring um she's also a shining example of kindness dedication and curiosity in the classroom always willing to lend a helping to both her peers and teachers creating a positive and supportive learning environment her hardworking nature and focused attitude ensure that she always puts forth her best effort in anything she does rise inquisitive mind drives her to seek understand understanding as thoughtful questions and engage deeply with her learning she's truly a role model for others so proud to recognize her as student of the month congratulations arrive all right next we have Reed Austin in sixth grade um read recently submitted His science fair project studying the effective video games on heart rates how many of you think the heart rate goes up on video games show hands oh yes his research confirmed that great job on your project um curiously your sixth grade social studies teacher is here somewhere who Mr Christian Mr Christian said who writes your studious read do your work without a fuss you have a gentle quiet but this is a guys however when answering questions as sharp as attack and as nuanced in his responses he most certainly is a thinker and I've been impressed with more than a few of his class contributions also miss tangren says the reason great student always working hard in math making sure all assignments are turned in and clearly explained he's a student that many others can depend on and seems to enjoy helping his peers keep up the great work and then finally from the chillon he clearly takes his academic success and the science content seriously and he sets an example for others of high academic responsibility all right let's congratulate let's congratulate read in sixth grade I discovered all right awesome 6th grade we have your Etsy Ortiz and in her science project she examined the melting of polar ice caps and the effect that they could have on animal Extinction great job on your project um and as comes to stem schools stem school we have students who science projects in 67 May so that was her project and your science teacher says you're so deserving of being recognized as student of the month the Audi is a mature patient friendly number so if I'm learning community always participating fully engaging with the learning materials or work its top-notch and notes that will classwork our meat legible and thorough she completes all assignments in a thoughtful and accurate detailed manner is an awesome member of our classroom Community always willing to help the classmates with confusing math problems I appreciate her willingness to try the difficult math problems even when she's not positive of the answers and then finally on the stranger says that you've exemplified excellence in both academics and character showing outstanding qualities that make her a role model for peers you the audience consist consistently goes above and beyond your studies Australian and dedication to learning congratulations yellow great job okay next we have cada Murphy in seventh grade uh your congratulations that's awesome 1 of our teachers the Shifty rights you're a wonderful student so personable and always does your best cada is able to push through difficult assignments and situations always has a smile on her face Mr Barrett writes came is a motivated hardworking and respectful student cada care is deeply about her teachers her peers and her own performance she will always ask questions when things are clear and it is clear to me that she intends to learn and Excel everything she does in school in class Mr Lane writes that she is a very capable coder she loves to mess around with robot designs there doesn't appear to be anything she can't figure out she is such a wonderful student having class mostly because we're still an attitude and responsible nature Mr added that he he can't you can out code him that you basically are much more smarter than he is um which is amazing that these kids do these things and and and Kedah has done that so congratulations on student of the month great work all right finally and eighth grade we have David Marino his teacher's writing is a competent independent worker and often exhibit exhibits a social maturity that helps contribute to a more focused classroom thank you we need that in junior high trust me uh Mr Ty says David is a very respect very respectful math class I like how he comes to class prepared to engage in advanced math concepts and finally Miss Adams writes David has made huge personal growth and leadership in the classroom uh and he's in the leadership leadership class of Eagle Peak during this free time he can be seen enjoying Lively and jovial connection with friends I admire his ability to focus his his exuberant energy in watch them with intention and productivity by modeling these skills to others he uplifts student academic practices at Eagle Peak David is demonstrating command of essential social emotional skills such as agency purpose self awareness that will take him far in whatever he pursues especially next year high high school congratulations David Moreno and we have 2 students now here in Genesis Flores and Christine Herrera Rosano we will honor and recognize them as School in front of their peers so congratulations and congratulations again Eagle Peak students of the month welcome to hello everyone um thank you for being here uh my name is Magdalena Risa assistant principal from Alita middle school and I'm here with Miss Teddy um to uh introduce to present the students of the month um the first student is uh a sixth grader um she was nominated by Miss Morton and Miss Morton rides Amelia continues to be a dedicated scholar at this school year she accepts the roar value statement a is respond respectful to her teachers and classmates she is willing to help others with their work and when and eyewitness her being a positive friend to all Amelia stays organized with classes she needs need and gives her materials in order Amelia has a positive attitude she is on the pomera basketball team and is a class representative for ASB a Ilya is responsible and trustworthy I have enjoyed getting to know Emilia as and I look forward to seeing her growth in the future keep it up in India our next um student is John Marin and he was also nominated by Miss Martin um she writes John is a kind helpful student he is uh he is a fantastic representative of the sixth graders at pomolita Joan follows the role Roar values daily he is willing to share his materials and ideas ideas with his classmates and always shows good work ethic in the classroom John's willingness to participate in class discussions this space maturity and a strong content knowledge 1 is responsible for his actions and his work at school I am very happy to have John in my classes this year I look forward to seeing his growth while at Pamela up John our next student is seventh grader Anastasia Carol who was nominated by her math teacher Mr Allen who happens to be here tonight he writes Anastasia is a model student hardworking on task and always completes her homework and class assignments she brings a great a good attitude and I can count on her to answer the hard questions she exemplifies our school values to a team congratulations for 8th grade we have Zane Gillespie Walter he was nominated by Miss Robinson for honors English language arts she writes Zane displays commitment to submitting outstanding classwork and fully participating in learning activities in our honor English language arts class he works very well independently and with others Zayn also showed his Advanced formal argumentation skills during both of our debates congratulations Zane our final eighth grader is Miss lavella falis lavella is very kind respectful and responsible she's she consistently goes above and on my expectations for a student lavella puts in great amount of effort into her work and is always there to help her classmates I really appreciate her positive attitude and helping class and this came from her math teacher Miss Goulding congratulations and next we have you PA independent study Academy what's your name hi my name is Bob dubb I'm the principal of Epi independent study Academy to have before you Samantha Hernandez Gonzalez of fourth grader her teacher writes Samantha's extremely bright and driven Young she works exceedingly hard and when working independently and advocates for herself if she is having trouble with assignments or back problems she is kind to her classmates and respectful to adults Samantha has a love for axle they just did that to stop me I know it and enjoy his learning about these interesting creatures quite honestly I looked it up today and they're like 3 different uh ways to pronounce it and but Samantha said I was correct so that's the 1 I'm going with additional in Samantha's creative and fun-loving her enthusiasm for Learning and her passion for doing her very best will serve her well in life and has brought her to this stage today I'm happy to celebrate her as a perfect example of a student of the month keep up the hard work and congratulations and Max wants the microphone right no okay but Max is the fifth grader and a fantastic young man uh Max is a super fun his teacher ranks Max is super fun to get to know Max loves to be active and busy he's in a multiple space classes and ballet he's extremely creative and outgoing what I assigned a creative writing assignment he gave it 100% effort and came up with a story that was really exciting I feel like I should have an excerpt but I don't sorry Max loves to hang out with his friends in our class and enjoys coming to our art and game days when it comes to schoolwork he will be the first to admit he didn't use his time wisely and will remedy the issue quickly overall Max is a top of it is on top of his assignments you'll always send me an email if he has a question or needs clarification on an assignment Max is a delightful to work with and will always arrive with a story to tell facts is a wonderful example of students that should be recognized for being the person he is always be yourself Max keep up the good work and congratulations next up we have K River from South Valley my name is Kita Greenberg I'm principal of big picture South Valley the first is Jordan lawyer and this is what your teacher Mrs Hughes wrote about you Jordan is an amazing young lady since she came to us this fall we've seen nothing but maturity and responsibility she graduated last week at age 16 woo she has driven to do her best and she will be an asset to any job she takes any company she works for and any business she runs she is currently taking class set men to see no College and next we'll go to either Santa Rosa Junior College or sax City and then transfer to a 4 year she's interested in both law and nursing she has a bright future and I'm very proud of her congratulations next I would like to introduce Lilia Vargas and this is from your teacher Mrs Lawson Lilia is the quiet storm in my room even though I've heard that she's very different around her closest friends she works hard is extremely polite and kind tries new things and reflects on her experiences Lilia has her internship at Frank Zeke working with kindergarten students with Miss Smotherman she loves helping in the classroom with the kids art projects and is even considering a career as a teacher or paraprofessional Lilia has grown so much since she first came to South Valley and we are all very excited to see what to see what she does after graduation in June congratulations there you go Dr Alvarez at UK to achieving everybody congratulations from students of the month and hello future wild cats okay um um you follow the tenets of ICPC I've seen Flags around campus or heard of it Integrity compassion productivity and creativity and so that's what our teachers use in order we started our ninth grade students of the month the first is JD kruit whose us this year is athletic PE and placed on the girls basketball team and I had to run here from practicing Mountain so uh we have 2 nominations the first 1 is from Miss Sports here who teaches freshman advisory says JD is the student who is 1 Step Ahead before you even finish explaining all of the steps she is patient has an incredible work ethic that requires zero external effort is a talented artist athlete and student she is self-motivated exhibits ICPC values effortlessly and will undoubtedly continue to succeed at youkai high school and eventually in whatever career path she chooses after graduation now there is a second nomination with a teacher who put their name the other teacher says I want to Second this nomination Jaden is an incredible student who always comes to class with a positive attitude she works hard and I also completely believe that she will be successful and whatever lies ahead for her congratulations I don't know if you have anybody here okay and actually have Rafael Ayala and in Aspen part of part of this uh Raphael is 1 Raphael right evil is for No Name and get it 1 all right now um we have Leila Leila's next whose favorite class is is a it's called the Ia period and what she actually is in freshman advisory classes and really likes peer counseling um and uh working with our freshman in The Advisory class and is also on our sideline and competition cheer team which by the way competition cheers new this year and they just placed second at Nationals in Las Vegas Lea has a nomination from her French teacher that says I would like to nominate Leila for student of the month in recognition of her diligence focus and exceptional effort in class despite facing challenges she consistently stays on top of her responsible abilities and perseveres with determination it was hard work and success truly deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated congratulations all right I am only Walker whose classes Advanced Construction is a member of our mock trial team who has a number of years in a row uh winning menechino County getting to go to State and we're looking for the same thing this year right right and then it also runs on the track and field team um Mr Pearce our construction teacher says Ari is a great student and a caring individual he is always willing to work hard and can be counted on to help others in class I nominate him for both compassion and productivity congratulations AP Physics because it's not your typical class and it is something she's interested in doing in the future and also is going to complete the auto path this year and that's super exciting uh you have a nomination for Mr Bergman your history teacher who says I would like to nominate Olivia for student of the month I first had Olivia during the summer school in 2024 she had a rough sophomore year sophomore from depression and wanted to turn it around academically she turned in quality work worked very hard and recovered her credit this year I have Olivia any class and she continues to work hard and turn in quality work I am so very proud of her for turning life around and striving to be a better student we're all very proud of you good job you have a junior and we're sorry a Funko who was unable to be here today so we'll make sure that Rosario gets uh all the goodies and and the accolades during school and also we have Ana Ochoa a senior who uh she came and saw me my office yesterday cuz she was really sick and I said get out of my office I love you to get out of my office and if you're sick we'll celebrate this woman she's still out today so um congratulations to those 2 students and we go to senior Devin Reyes his favorite class is AI because he likes his teacher makes it really interesting is on the baseball team and plans on uh I don't know if this is Major or setting diesel technology at WyoTech next year studying feels like yeah it's not yeah we'll have to talk more about what that means um we have 3 nominations for Dev and the first 1 from his AP Spanish language and culture teacher it says Devin has been steadfastly focused on improving his Spanish for the past year in Spanish 3 a decidedly intense class he reached a bit of a Crossroads and with some encouragement decided to double down on his efforts lo and behold it is all paid off as Devin is 1 of the was engaged diligent and participatory students in my class his questions demonstrate attention to detail and depth of understanding the type of thing that makes a teacher's heart sing I quite appreciate the slight lean of his head and narrowing of his eyes it tells me that my answer explanation is not quite working for him he forces me to be a better teacher and I loved it at the end of last year I think there's a very good possibility that Devin was not going to continue in AP Spanish but I relentlessly encouraged him and so I'm glad he took my vote of confidence Park is contributions to class discussions help the entire classroom to deeper deeper level of understanding and is humorous commentary likes to move for resolve thank you Devin for all you do in Spanish that's 1 second teacher uh seems like it would be uh Miss Ward who says I agree about Devin he is a wonderful leader in leadership class and a great citizen as well a wonderful young man and the third teacher Miss Williams says Devon was an outstanding student when I had him the rest of the year it is awesome to see his hard work and attitude has followed followed him all the way to his senior year congratulations thank you all so much for being here um we love your kids and appreciate you sharing them with us I hope you all have a great night please
