Ukiah Unified School District (UUSD) is excited to announce that Ukiah High School senior Savannah Nelsen officially signed her letter of intent this week to wrestle for the University of Providence Argonauts in Great Falls, Montana.
The signing ceremony took place at Ukiah High, where Savannah was joined by her coaches – Coreena Christensen, head coach, and Brian Williams, assistant coach – along with her proud mother, Jennifer Smith.
A standout student-athlete, Savannah has earned recognition for her dedication on the mat and in the classroom. Her signing marks a significant milestone in her athletic and academic journey, as she prepares to compete at the collegiate level.
“We’re incredibly proud of Savannah and all the hard work that brought her to this moment,” said Coach Christensen. “She’s a fierce competitor and a role model for younger athletes.”
Savannah will join the University of Providence wrestling team, part of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics), where she plans to continue growing as both an athlete and a scholar.
Congratulations, Savannah – from Wildcats to the Argonauts!
