Ukiah Unified Welcomes Four New Leaders to Our Team

Ukiah Unified School District is proud to welcome four exceptional educators to key leadership roles: Angela O’Donnell, Jessica Hernandez, Kim Barden, and James Snyder. Each brings deep experience, dedication, and a student-first mindset to their new positions – strengthening our mission to serve every student, every day.

Angela O’Donnell joins UUSD as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. With over 17 years of experience and dual Master’s degrees in Education and Public Administration, O’Donnell is committed to supporting the educators who shape our students’ futures. “When we invest in educators, we invest directly in student success,” she shared.

Jessica Hernandez steps in as Principal of Calpella Elementary. She brings more than a decade of leadership and a strong belief in building connections with students, families, and staff. “Every child deserves to reach their fullest potential,” said Hernandez, who looks forward to joining the Calpella community.

Kim Barden is UUSD’s new Coordinator of Educational Programs, Special Education. A former school psychologist, Barden holds Master’s degrees in both School Psychology and Educational Leadership. “Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to inclusive, high-quality education.

James Snyder has been named Director of Educational Programs at the District Service Center. Currently an Assistant Principal at Ukiah High, Snyder brings over 20 years of experience and a focus on innovation in instruction. “I’m excited to support students districtwide by exploring new ways to connect and engage,” he said.

“We are thrilled to welcome Angela, Jessica, Kim, and Jim to our leadership team,” said Superintendent Debra Kubin. “Their passion and expertise will help us continue preparing every student for success in college or career.”

Please join us in celebrating and supporting these dynamic leaders as they begin their new roles!
