Two teams of Pomolita Middle School and Ukiah High School (UHS) students recently brought home first place honors and other medals from two different regional Science Olympiad tournaments.

Ukiah High School Senior, Valeria Estrada, was selected as Region 2 Migrant Student of the Year. This prestigious award honors one outstanding student from each Region for their academic achievements and community involvement.

Elizabeth DeVinny, Eagle Peak Middle School Digital Media Teacher, has been named Educator of the Year by the California League of Middle Schools (CLMS) for Region 1. The award is given annually to California middle school educators who exemplify educational excellence and have made significant efforts to implement elements of educational reform.

California Senator Mike McGuire recently visited Ukiah Unified School District to congratulate food service employees on serving more than 1.1 million meals to 17 different school sites during the 2018-19 school year, a number they are likely to surpass this year.
